You don't get Dishonor Hex just because of one quit. You need more than that on a certain period of time:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Disho...mbatant_System

It means that you quit twice in less than 5 minutes, and even then after 10 minutes you can still play. (and to give you the benefit of the doubt, I'm not considering the /report here, which can give you 2 points). If you continue to get dishonorable points during the next 60 minutes, the duration is increased, but then you deserve it.

Patience is a virtue and you have a severe lack of it. This system is perfect because it protects us from people like you, where your last refuge is a fanforum.

I met a guy in GtoB who didn't know what it was, I explained and he then adapted to this, quickly loosing his dishonorable points. Now stop QQing and play the game, or find something useful to do with your time.

That is a waste of time.

No i'm not going to stay 8 minutes just so both teams die in a draw.
Seems like /resign is a forgotten command.

Start providing better evidence that the system doesn't suck shit other than .

Unless you are getting 2-3 monks every other match, then you have no reason to complain.

Random means that the team structure is not definite. You get shit teammates or not enough damage? Somebody call the waaaaaaaambulance.
Don't want to deal with those odds? Go to TA.

+1 since this thread is begging to be locked.

stupid thread
it's just a game
if you leave cuz your team lost and the timer isn't at 0 you deserve it ^.~
i once was playing in AB and everyone at my side started leaving
it was 5 vs 12 and i still played the match through even tho we were heavily outnumbered
learn to live with the hex or gtfo

I don't think the OP appreciates really how bad leeching/quitting was before dishonorable.

It definitely does more good than harm.

One big problem in ab though is that when there's a leech in your base, you might not be back to base to see him to /report for a very long time (or ever). Therefore, leeches seldom get many reporters and almost always get away with leeching.

Now I very rarely RA, but I have never found a team that didn't know how to resign. Even the noobiest person with the most retarded builds know what resign is. Compare this to before dishonorable where half the time you joined a team someone would leave.

For AB, just use those noobs as a distraction

if they don't resign, just sit down and wait some time, go check guru while waiting.

And like allready been said u don't get dishonourable after 1 leave, so dishonourable works perfectly...

Dishonorable was invented just for dishonorable players like the OP.

"OMG you're a W/Mo in non-elite armor!!!!!!!!!!!! U SUK! <bye bye>"
"OMG!!!! You brought a torment shield to RA!!!! DUMB PVE ELITIST NOOB!!!! <bye bye>"
"3 MONKS???? THIS IS STUPID!!! <bye bye>"
"REZ ME REZ ME REZ ME REZ ME REZ ME REZ ME REZ ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <bye bye>"
"OMG!!!!!! THAT STOOOPID RANGER HAS A HAMMER NOT A BOW. NOOB! <bye bye>"

Yeah RA is a lot better with dishonorable. If you don't like getting 2 monks on your team, then move to TA and build your perfect pwning team there.

Dishonorable is just a mechanic to remove the instant gratification from pvp, similar to the way it was removed from pve. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to leave a pvp session, especially for those players who have very limited time to play the game.

Restricting yourself to playing RA is no longer an option; you're simply restricted to not pvp anymore.

Really? I did not know that. I simply stopped PvPing entirely when the system was introduced. It would have been nice if Arenanet had released the specifics when they created the system.

Sounds like they are partially targeting leavers just like you, and you don't like it.

If you want to leave a match because the team doesn't meet your expectations, then simply deal with the Dishonorable hex and move on. It's much better than going in with the expectation that your typical RA team will only have 3 members or your AB team will likely have less than 10 members, due to leavers.

while i find dishonorable status to be a great addition to stop the leechers/ragers/griefers, its still a pain to be caught in the situations that the OP is talking about, so i totally understand where he's coming from..

unfortunately, i dont agree that the system should be removed, because its doing way more good, than it is harm.

for instance, about once a day, i get this:

map loads (im a monk), 2 other monks, and a resto rit with no damage are my 3 team mates. "um... ok resign guys lol" i say... no one talks back. "hello? /resign please" timer starts, they run out like brainless, soulless morons. "wtf freaking resign, are you guys bots or something, say something!" i say, then i get the "stfu noob, lern how 2 monk, then you won't cry so much" before we even start fighting.

this just makes me want to either leave, or sit, or even kamikaze lol.

then theres the even more often variant:

you go in, you have almost no damage for whatever reason, and neither does the other team somehow.. like 2 monks on each team, and then both teams have crappy touch rangers or blood necros or something awful. then no one agrees to either resign, roll, leave, or give up.. so you fight the timer out.

it gets pointless and irritating, and i sympathize, but thats no reason to wish for the entire systems removal

The real solution for the RA isn't to change the dishonorable system, its to make it so its not truly random. Such as if whatever mechanic that chooses the teams were to see that a team already had two monks, then have it so it excludes any more.

But whatever I don't leave groups so it doesn't effect me.

The worst idea of the system is the /report command, because its like being guilty till proven innocent. Dishonorable is annoying but its easy to get around, just resign. And if that doesn't work run to the other team and frenzy/healsig alot, your team will get the message.
